I have a Toshiba 1800-400 laptop running windows ME , I am always getting a warning that kernel 32 has caused an error and shuts my computer down.
Is there any remedy for this. will a system restore help. Also my system is getting slower and my floppy drive will save no documents from microsoft word

Time for a reinstall of WinME I think to best sort out the problems. Backup all data, address books, favourites etc beforehand.

can you post the exact error please

click here for some possible causes

try system restore as you suggested yourself or if you have just installed new software or drivers lately remove them and see if they are the cause maybe.

i suppose it could even be caused by a virus etc, do you have an av and is it all up to date?

as above exact error may help here
