Somewhat surprised you can connect at all, I'd leave it for now and see what happens. If you get any problems, look up Tiscali in the Kerio configuration menu and delete it. Kerio will ask the trusted network question again when you next connect, this time click yes.

I am nothaving problems yet but also my dialup
number appears in the trusted zone area but the
box is not ticked, should the box be ticked just
like the other entry 127.0.0.1 loopback.
The dialup number is correct and the adapter
says tiscali.

Tick Tock, the box should be left unticked so Kerio knows it's not a trusted connection and will stop unwanted intrusions. Any connection to the internet should be classed as not trusted.

The entry 127.0.0.1 loopback is always classed as a trusted connection by all firewalls as this connection would be used if your computer was connected to a local network(i.e.if you had two or more computers networked at home).

Belatucadrus, hope you don't mind me jumping in :)

Ok thanks i will leave the box unticked.

Just been looking at the kerio help contents and
it shows an example of a default dialup connection
with the box ticked in the trusted zone.

  dagwoood 14:40 27 Nov 04

It does show that, but this is in contradiction of how Kerio(and other firewalls for that matter)are configured to provide protection.

If you go to the help file for the trusted area(where you noticed the picture), the first sentence reads, "Two types of IP groups are distinguished for Kerio Personal Firewall application rules: trusted area and the Internet".

I don't know why the trusted area has got a tick in the picture, as it doesn't tally with the above quote, i.e.an internet connection shouldn't be classed as a trusted area.

HTH, dagwoood.
