Keep Or Dump?

I am running Windows ME. In the root of C: I have a hidden folder called _RESTORE. It is 1.35GB in size. Can I safely delete this folder without my PC having a fit? I’m not bothered about restoring my computer to an earlier time as system restore never works when you want it to. Thanks.

I would leave it alone. All sorts of problems can be caused by deleting items that you are not adsolutely certain can be removed safely. If system restore doesn't work properly for you, it would be much safer looking for the fix for that rather than deleting possibly vital files.

It's a system folder protected by Windows. So no right click > Delete...

If ME has the ability to delete the restore points then you can do that.

Mmmm, yes that’s what I thought... Had my fingers burnt more than once deleting things that I know nothing about. Just thought that I would get a second opinion. I think that I’ll leave well alone. Thanks both.
