Prevent MSN Messenger from automatically launching at startup

Stop MSN Messenger from signing you in automatically

In the main MSN Messenger window, click the Tools menu, and then click Options. Click the General tab, and then clear the Allow automatic sign in when connected to the Internet check box.

Stop MSN Messenger from starting automatically

In the main MSN Messenger window, click the Tools menu, and then click Options. Click the General tab, and then clear the Automatically run Messenger when I log on to Windows check box.

Can't help on the first problem, but I think you will find that msn puts itself into the start menu. If it does you will have to delete from start up

Also on 'contacts' window go to tools/options/general and uncheck the top box ' 'Automatically run WLM when logging on to Windows'
Assuming you have Windows Live.
May be the same for previous version.

how do i delete from start up?

  SANTOS7 19:12 19 Mar 07

try this..

As for the disconnect problem it maybe down to line noise so it could be a line filter issue...

the only way i can get reconnected is to sign out of windows messenger and then sign back in again
