Keep asking to install IE7 + MSN question

I have downloaded IE7 with the automatic window updates, when I installed it I couldn't get on the internet anymore so I restaured the PC to a previous date. Now every time I start the PC it is asking me to install the window update which is IE7, even if I keep clicking on the -do not install- it's doing it again next time I start up again.
How do I get rid of that downloaded update?
MSN is signing me automatically in messenger everytime I start up. How do I get it to stop signing me in automatically?
Thank you.

In Windows update go to Custom Install, take the tick out of the download you should then be presented with another window asking if you wish to install it at a later date(or something like that), say No.

Sorry, your Messenger problem. Open Messenger, click on Tool/Options and on the General Tab take the ticks out of your required options.
