Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0

Anyone out there tried installing/ using the full 180 day free version of KIS 6.0 that came free with the Dec 2006 PC Advisor magazine?

The magazine refers to using the activation code during the installation process. I am a bit unhappy about this since it involves being logged onto the internet after removing my previous security software (NIS 2003)and before - presumably - being properly protected by KIS.

Am I worrying unnecessarily? I see from the online Kaspersky manual that there are other options for activation that do not seem to involve installing while online, but I would then be concerned about not following the PC Advisor route.

Can anyone comment?

No, but I had intended to.
Personally I do not worry too much about the lack of NIS or KIS protection initially.
The brief period when you are on the internet before the installation is completed, you are covered by Windows firewall anyway, before its turned off by the installation where NIS or KIS replaces it.
