Hi There,

Does anyone have any info on the above virus, I have AVG installed on my Vista laptop & a recent scan flagged up this virus. AVG tried to heal, but an error took place, everything seems to be working ok, just don't like the idea that this virus is there somewhere ready to pounce.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks,

David.

Download SmitFraudFix click here

print out the instructions and follow exactly to the letter.

This should clean you up.

How Davy ?

Did SmitFraudFix sort it ?

Sorry Skidzy,

I tried smitFraudFix but AVG said the download contained a virus!
In the end I went onto Grisoft website (should have gone their in 1st place)& downloaded a cleaning tool which did the trick.
Thanks very much for the post, it's much appreciated, I know there is a lot of knowledge out there.

David.

What you should ask yourself is how come AVG let the virus in, such that was it only picked up in a subsequent scan.

A decent AV program is supposed to stop viruses entering you system - not let them in and wait for you to scan to find them.

Do you have a firewall?

Davy i think you may have more on your system than you think...sorry.

Ive just downloaded the Smitfraudfix and scanned with a couple of apps and its clean, now whether its been infected and cleaned or was a clean download remains to be seen.

I find it highly unlikely it contained a virus, therefore i would recommend using an online scanner such as Trend Micro or Kaspersky click here click here

Let us know how you get along.

Happy new year,

My AVG Antivirus also picks up a threat it;s a false positive of cause,

SAS gives the all clear,

You get these false positive because of the nature of the smitfraudfix,

Strange that,i scanned with AVG free and SAS and got the all clear.
As we know all systems are differently in there own right.

I should add,i am upto date with the latest definitions.

Happy New Year to you also Mfletch.
