Jerky Scrolling

  Dannyb 21:23 06 Jan 05

For the past few months my ability to scroll smmothly on the screen has gone and it scrolls, stops, continues, stops etc. Also, when I stream sound through it does the same, the speach breaks off at regular interviews and then resumes. I have Windows 2000 and have a 576kbps broadband connection. Can anybody tell me why this may be and if there is a simple solution. (It needs to be simple!!). I would appreciate any suggestions.

cleaning the rollers by removing the circular disk & ball from under the mouse ? Dirt can build up and cause this. If you have optical er then not.

Check drivers, disk clean-up do you programmes open ok ?

I use a mouse without a rollerball, and, yes, my programmes are opening alright. It's really frustrating when calling somebody on Skype or Yahoo Messenger because of these breaks in the flow of the speech.
