When using some of my programs I experience the mouse cursor going jerky and not moving around the screen. This has only recently started happening. What can be the problem? I have repaced the mouse with another one and it still does it.

You'll get better responses if you tell us:

* What version of Windows you're running

* What type of mouse - optical or ball, wired or wireless, brand

* In which programs does the problem appear

Windows XP and Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0. which is an optical wired mouse.

That smacks of something running in the background sucking up resources.

How powerful is your system and is there anything running in Task Manager that is stopping the 'system idle process' staying above 90%

Intellimouse Optical v3 are extremely good mouses :-)

ps: USB or PS2? Whichever one - try the other.

The processor is an Intel core 2 quad 2.4ghz with 2.00gb ram.
