Jerky Graphics

I have a P4 2.Ghz Advent PC with 512MB Ram. I recently put in a RADEON 9700 pro graphics card which has 128mb memory. Whenever I play a game, even though the graphics are excellent, the picture is jerky. Can anybody help me identify what the problem is? Thanks in advance.

Shut down as many apps including your Anti Virus when playing.

does this happen in all games?

a raddy 9700 should be able to handle anything you throw at it without slowdown.as above shut down any background progs running.

try the latest drivers click here

reduce the resolution to 1024x768 and set the card to default "optimal performance"

try a patch for the game,some games are badly coded and will run like a big dog even on a great card like this.

It was resolved by turning off the AV software.
