Java VM & IE6

I am receiving a lot of Microsoft Java VM install on demand pop-ups recently, which brought to my attention that obviously i dont have this installed. Now I did try and install it from the pop-up, but it took me to a page sating that I would have to install it via Windows update. Fari enough, off I trundle to the start menu and click on windows update. 7 critical updates pop-up - no java vm. 21 recommended updates - no java vm

So where is it!?

I have searched the microsoft download page but my search is in vein

Currently working with XP Pro SP1 and IE6 SP1

Might be worth reading this first (Microsoft's explanation of Security Zones' duties and configuration):

You may merely need to configure the (Java) section via Tools>Internet Options>Advanced tab).

Try going to Sun Microsystems (sorry I don't have a link) and download and install the latest Java runtime from there.
