iTunes problem

Since installing the latest version of iTunes I get the following message when I try to run the program - "iTunes cannot run because it has detected a problem with your audio configuration". I note that this has been a problem for others and I have done what has previously been suggested including doing a system restore and checking that my onboard sound card is the default. Any other ideas to sort this, please?

I have downloaded the latest version and it runs no problem with win XP-Home sp1. I take it that you have no problems with sound from other progs like win media plyer etc. Could be that the prog became corrupted during the download. Have you tried uninstalling and re-installing to check this out. Also check sound devices in control panel.

Sorry for delay in replying but I have been away. Tried above but did not work. Looked on iTunes website and went to support. Problem was there!! Problem was with Quick Time. Uninstalling the program and then reinstalling it solved the problem.
