iTunes 5

iTunes has decided it's necessary to upgrade to v5. Unfortunatley this action served up 2 rather bad errors. Firstly the installation crashed, and continues to crash on each further attempt to install.
Secondly the installation routine changed the address of the DNS server stored in my router, killing my internet connection.

I cannot find the disk that came with my iPod that contains a working version of iTunes.

Does anyone know why version 5 keeps crashing, how Apple get away with changing the DNS settings of my computer and finally where I can get an old version of iTunes.
