Item lost from Start Menu

  dave h 20:16 18 Feb 04

I get asked all the silly questions by the members of our club. (I'm the WebMaster, so all IT queries come to me!)

One of our members has lost the items from his start menu which start the games on his second drive (i.e. not the drive his O.S. is on). I told him how to put a shortcut on the desktop, but he wants to put the items back on to the 'Start>AllItems' menu.

Can one of our experts tell me how to put it back, please?

Thanx In advance.

Or, highlight the game, right click and choose - pin to start menu.

How do you drag it to the start menu?

Right click the start button, Open all users, programs...

Problem appears to be solved...using 'Watchful,s' solution.

Find the relevant .exe file using windows explorer, Right click and create a shortcut. Drag the shortcut to the desktop. Right click on the desktop shortcut and select 'Pin to start menu'.

Finally, delete the shortcut from the desktop.

Thanx again to all

If you are using XP then, as Powerless suggests, Start, Show all programmes, find the one you want in your list, Highlight it, hold mouse key down on it and drag it to the start menu.
