Is it possible to send files from a Windows 98 Computer to a Windows XP(Pro) Laptop via a USB Cable? If so how can this be done?

Yes, you need a special USB cable - data link, or data transfer cables they are called.

Ebuyer has some...

Do not connect two PCs' usb ports using normal usb cable! You can fire two PCs by this.

You need special datalink cable.

USB1 version: Ebuyer USB File Transfer Cable For Data Communication 5MBPS Data Transfer Rate 2MTR Retail Box £5.87 click here

Usb 2 version: Faster but maynot work with 98: Ebuyer USB 2.0 Datalink Cable Retail Blister Pack £11.74 click here

Maplin also sell them, but cost more (I think it is £29.99 at maplin)
