Is it my router or my ISP

G'day,
I'm relatively new to ADSL and routers, i'm running a netcomm NB1300plus4 ethernet router. I'm using static IP's and have all my DNS settings put in manually over the phone from my ISP. Now AFTER i spend any amount of time downloading my internet runs as slow as it would if i was still downloading, sometimes it just comes to a grinding halt and wont do anything till i reboot the router. i'm not sure if this is a problem with my router or my ISP. Any help i can get would be a huge help.
Cheers.

I think that you should experiment with another router (one that you can trust) before blaming the ISP's service. Do not try it with a standalone modem, though; they typically have higher fault tolerances and you may get a false impression.
