INVALID HANDLE WAS SPECIFIED I'm runnuing XP pro and now and again I can't boot because of the above notice. I switch off and after one or two reboots I.m back in business.
I haven,t recently added any new software and as always use AVG and Zonealarm. The only oddball a few days ago was an email with just the envelope showing but no text and unspecified sender.
Any clues would be appreciated.

You need to check whether ISASS.EXE is started with an i or an I.

Thank you Stuartli
I will have to wait for this to occur again and will pay more attention to the heading

>>and will pay more attention to the heading>>

I wasn't referring to the heading..:-)

It's whether it's isass.exe orIssas.exe that's important i.e. in other words the first letter.

Do a search for both

Sorry for not replying earlier but this fault has cleared and I dont know why. However I stopped AVG from auto scanning when booting up so if this had anything to do with the fault I don't as it necer occured previously
Many thanks
