Please excuse the capitals, it's how the fault was described.

XP Pro, copying files from CD to C: drive.

Computer was shut down. All assistance and advice appreciated, shall respond tomorrow.

This message can be given with a faulty graphics card and also with a corrupt file system on one or more hard drives.

For the latter, run chkdsk on your drive(s)
