Irfanview - how to change display of files?

Irfanview is my default image viewer. When I've downloaded photos from my camera to the Pictures folder in my notebook computer, the files show as thumbnail-size images above the filenames. When I do it with my desktop computer, they show the Irfanview logo where I was expecting the little image. Can anyone tell me which setting to change to show the image? (I can't think of anything I've done differently!).

Vista Home Premium SP2 (both computers). Photos downloaded via USB cable in both cases (both machines have card readers, but they won't read my card, probably because their technology is older).

Job done, lotvic. Thanks!

I hadn't thought of Vista settings; I only noticed the lack of thumbnails when I started transferring images to the desktop. I might have turned them off along with some other non-essential stuff, while trying to get the computers connected over dialup.
