IRDA adaptors for laptop/printer

I'm looking at wireless connectivity for a printer to laptop and am considering IRDA adaptors.

However the adaptors I've seen are all usb'A' connectors, whilst the printer is 'B'.

Would a gender changer be available for this?

Does anyone have experience of IRDA adaptors, range etc?

Thanks.
