What generation iPod touch is it and what software is it running v3 or V4. V4.2 was released today.

My Desktop with my i tunes is down at the moment but the softwre is at least 4.i
If 4.2 is out, download it and then when you plug in the touch it should give you the potion to update it - may take a long time.

Connect your Touch to machine. When iTunes open click on the Touch icon on the left pane.

On the screen that opens you will see in the centre the option to upgrade.

Click on this and the upgrade will be downloaded and installed onto the Touch.

hmm that doesnt work as it says that v2.2.1 is the latest version for my ipod..!

Touch owners had to pay for the upgrade from 2.1.1 to 3.0.

It is worth doing a Google search for 2.2.1 to 3.0 upgrade
