Until recently I have been able to see the IP address of my computer by running ipconfig. The black screen with the IP details stayed on the screen until I closed it. Now when I run ipconfig (or ipconfig /all)the black screen with the details appears only momentarily and the screen reverts to the desktop not giving me time to read it. What has happened?

Alternatively, you could download SIW click here, run it and click on 'Network Information'

Or even go to this website for your IP address

Or Right click on your network icon on the taskbar - choose staus and then support tab.

Of course if you have a router you will only see your internal address by this method and ipconfig

If you type

cmd ipconfig

into Run it should also work.

On my XP box that simply opens the command window to a prompt (just the same as only typing cmd)

It works for me...:-)

However cmd into Run, then typing ipconfig after the prompt point doesn't work.....
