hi, can anyone tell me how to stop my pc from broadcasting my ip address, im using xp pro.

You can't (well, not easily), and you don't really want to.

An IP address tells the other computers on the net where you are when you request something - eg try to go to a website.

Some ads on the net advertise "security" software saying that your pc is broadcasting an IP address.

By the way, if you really want to hide your IP address, then have a look at "proxy servers" and so forth on the net. Some are free but really of no benefit unless you want to do something which you don't want to be recognised doing (and even then is never fully hidden).
