You will have one IP address supplied to you from your ISP.

How that is translated to your individual computers will emtirely depend upon your setup.

Please describe your setup in terms of modem and router.

They are two types of IP address

One is fixed number that you have all the time. This is called a

Static IP address.

You would need to put this address, along with a few other settings, into any computer/ computers you use.

The other is a

Dynamic IP address

This address is automatically given to you when you log-on to your ISP's server. They have a large number of IP addresses that they allocate every time you use the internet. So when you shut down your browser or turn off your router, the next time you access the internet you will be given a new IP number.

The settings for this on the computer are usually auto. So if you connect another computer, via lan cable from a router. The machine will instantly access the internet.

It sounds as if you have a static IP and need to input those details into the other computer.

For that we need to know

If you are using a router. make and model.

Which operating system are you using.
