I/O Error?

I keep on getting this error...
"An I/O error occured while installing a file. This is normally caused by bad installation media or a corrupt installation file"

I have a feeling that it's not cos of a corrupt file because i've downloaded the planetside beta twice now from EXE, and I also get this error while trying to install the Tribes 2 demo, which I have also downloaded twice

Any ideas on whats going on?

does it only occur with downloaded software?

I had this problem when installing patches that I'd downloaded.......I figured out that it was my Cd drive!...Dont know why. But in the end I bought a new one and now everything fine!

yeh - downloaded software.

I got it working now though, it was my RAM :(
