Been trying to backup video files from DVDs to my hard drive.

Trying to backup with software known as 'DVD Shrink 3.2' However, I've been receiving the following message:

'Failed to read file "E:\". The request could not be performed because of a I/O device error'

What does this mean and what is the remedy?
