H the guy at my local computer shop says he can replace my Inverter for about £100, just to see if it is worth it. Its a sony vaio K215B and he also said there is a very small risk the computer might not work again?

How long have you had it? Have you contacted Sony or the supplier to see what they say?

no i aint contacted them but i'm guessing they would charge more than that, and its about a year and a half old

try them, they might offer a deal, and not give the warning that the guy gave of it might not work again.

Alternative is use the 100quid against a new lappy. Some great deals to be had, Sony tends to be overpriced in my opinion anyway, although very stylish so I guess that's what your paying for.
