Intervideo WinProducer

Has anyone encountered this. I use WinProducer to capture and edit video clips. I recently upgraded to Win XP Pro. I have all the latest drivers for graphics, sound cards etc.,
When I start the program and select an input source I get a picture in which all the whites are completely burnt out. I then select another input source, say s-video which is not connected to anything and go back to the original source and the picture is OK. This is not too much of a problem. Would be nice to fix. I have to follow this procedure every time I load the program for the first time. Anyone out there experience this problem?
