If you have windows 98, millenium or xp you can use the msconfig utility, go to start, run and type in msconfig press ok, look at the startup tab and you will see a list of programs which are started automatically, if aol is starting on boot then its most likely that there is a program which is trying to access the internet, this could be anything like a virus/trojan or something like kazaa, see this link for info on using the msconfig utility click here

Also if you have antivirus software make sure it is up to date and do a scan, if you have none the you can do a free scan from the following link click here
