Internet safety software

A friend of mine is looking for a new free piece of software that blocks certain websites, e.g. porn etc. U get the picture. She has windows xp home sp1, and avg 7.0 as well as ZA 5.5 but this isn't enough protection, so can anyone suggest anything??? plz

install service pk 2 this has a pop up blocker and an active x download prompt warning. try setting up the content advisor in ie6 maybe too and disable the 'messenger service' in 'control panel/administrative tools/services'.

install spywareblaster to stop a lot of spyware even getting on in the first place click here and update it often too. this should stop a lot of pop ups etc.

install and keep any antivirus software up to date and scan often, back this up with something like adaware or spybot.

This app adds Bad pages,porn pages and known sites that give out spyware to your resticted sites zone in IE it also sets all the HIGH security levels for the Resticted sites zone.

She has dial up, takes too lonhs for sp2. Already has ad aware, spybot and spywareblaster, but still gets spyware. Any password protected programs that are free to download and install for blocking certain web pages?

She should turn off system restore. reboot, and turm back on as well. I find that the new Microsoft proggie works very well and in real here
