Internet Pages Timing Out?

Hi Folks,

A guy I work with a has 1yr old PC connected to the Internet using a 56K modem connection. When he tries to open most webpages, they are appear to be loading, but when they are fully displayed, only text is visable, all graphics have a blank box with a red cross in the top left hand corner. He recently bought a new laptop for his wife, and using the same ISP account, can view all webpages he was having problems with.

He has checked the settings for Internet Explorer on both systems and they appear to be the same, but I think there is some advanced setting which are wrong.

Can anyone help.

Cheers

Tell him to try going into "Tools" > "Options" > "Advanced", scrolling down to "Multimedia" and making sure the appropriate boxes are ticked.

If he is useing a firewall make sure that it isn't stopping redirecting links which are usually hidden in images. Norton might be set to prevent advertising banners as well.
