Internet not connecting on startup

I have a Netgear DG834GT router, with internet connection through O2. Suddenly I do not have access to the internet or email on startup. The green lights are all showing on the router but my computer will not connect. I have to turn off the router for a minute or so and then switch back on to enable connection.
Can anyone suggest what may have changed please and how can I get back to immediate access?

Thanks for the link - have read it through and edited my router firewall to see if that helps.

Have bee to the site suggested by crosstrainer and changed my settings accordingly but to no avail - still get my router dropping connection.
Anyone had similar problems please?

Have spoken to o2 and was recommended to try their router to monitor what was happening. Touch wood, all now seems back to normal so will probably just have to keep going woth the o2 router.
