Internet Explorer Problems

A machine in the office has a problem with IE, every now and again a popup will open, a small browser box generally in the top left corner, it comes up page cannot be displayed and then if it is closed the IE page that is being used shuts down.

This machine has XP with SP2 and popup blocker enabled.

I have run and removed spyware and adware.

Any suggestions? I have tried to repair the IE installation but cant find it in the ADD/Remove programs list.

Go to Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs/ down the left hand side you will see 4 buttons Click on Add or Remove Windows components Highlight IE (make sure it's ticked) click next follow insrtuctions, you will need your XP CD.The IE repair is not in Add or remove programs list is is where I have told you.
