Colleague's laptop has a 2.8 p4 processor, 512mb RAM....

When attempting to use IE6 it keeps crashing, I tried to remove it, update it, install it over itself and install IE7. Used system restore, reg cleaner, ccleaner and it IE always crashes.

However Firefox 3 runs like a really fast thing that I can't give an example of right now. hmmmm.

Any ideas about why IE won't work?

Follow these steps to reset the Internet Explorer configuration settings:
1. Open Internet Explorer, click Tools, and then click Internet Options.
2. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Reset.
3. In the Internet Explorer Default Settings dialog box, click Reset.
4. When you have reset the settings, click Close, and then click OK to restart Internet Explorer.

These steps will rule out if an addon is at fault, you will lose any addons.

Also disable your firewall briefly to see if this makes a difference.

Also run your antivirus and download and run in safemode MBAM click here
