Internet explorer has stopped working

Hi
I keep getting a message pop up that says Internet explorer has stopped working, then a box pops up that says A problem caused the program to stop working correctly, windows will close the program, and then it shuts down and i have to start again, it already did it when i cam onto this site but i cant see any patten as to when it wants to shut down ?
iv tryed funning explorer with no add-on as sujested but it still shuts down for no reason that i can see ???
this is getting very annoying

try this.

Try command prompt and type in ipconfig /flushdns a small gap between ipconfig and forward slash or it will not work.Ok. it should tell you DNS has been flushed if so reboot and see if it works any better.

oops that was for xp.

this one for Vista.

Flushing the dns cache

In Vista right click the command prompt option and select run as admin, then type,
ipconfig /flushdns and press enter
net stop dnscache and press enter
net start dns cache and press enter

Start. run.type in, cmd.Ok.Command prompt will open and type those in one at a time pressing enter after each one.
Thats how you do it in Xp not sure about vista.
maybe try all programs accessories it should also be in there.

when i type ipconfig /flushdns i get the requested
operashon requires elevation ? what could that mean ?

Do as buteman said.
Go to Start > Run. here you must type in cmd and click on OK.
Now type in ipconfig/flushdns and press Enter
Next type in net stop dnscache and press enter.
And finally type in net start dns cache and press Enter
