Internet Explorer display problem

A friend is running IE v 6.0.

To the left of the main window there is a frame which enables the user to use Google without specifically logging onto the Google site. My friend does not want this frame to appear. How do I get rid of it?

I have tried dragging the left hand edge of the main window to the left but it will not go all the way and a small part of the Google frame is still visibile.

TIA

Start, Control Panel, Add or Remove programs. Uninstall Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer.
