Have switched off Auto updates after yesterdays download and upgrade to IE8
It wanted to restart after install and left me with blue screen.
System restore took me back a few days - but IE not working at all now -- so have plumbed for Opera and switched updates off permanently.

did you try a reset of internet explorer 7 as it is useful to have a working internet explorer aswel as opera?

IIRC, if you Uninstall IE9 from Add/Remove Programs, you go back to IE7.

did you start off with internet explorer 6 on your pc? if so then if you remove internet explorer 7 it will revert back to 6 .

  User-1229748 15:23 08 Jun 09

actually hold that till someone confirms it

  User-1229748 15:27 08 Jun 09

after installing xp sp3 i don't think you can go back to internet explorer 6

  User-1229748 15:33 08 Jun 09

if you installed internet explorer 7 after you already had xp sp3 then you can remove internet explorer 7 from add/remove :o)

it was IE8 that has caused the problem
IE& is there but corrupt -

would SFC /Scannow fix it with XP disk in??
