Internet Explorer 7

  GPC 23:24 16 Oct 08

I downloaded and installed IEX7.
Operating system is Windows XP pro.
Printers and scanner not working.
Reinstalled printers and scanner, nothing worked.
Restored PC to earlier date, thereby restoring IEX 6.
Printers and scanner all working normally.
Printers... HP Laserjet1300 and HP deskjet 980cxi
Scanner... Epson 2400 photo.

Now I hear all users must upgrade from IEX 6.
If true, how to do so without the above problems?
Please help

You can stay with IE 6 if you want, i still use IE6, but it's always good idea to have an alternat like FireFox or Opera.

Maybe turn your Firewall and anti-virus off before you install it.

Every time I load IEX 7, I lose drivers for scanner and printers.
Tried turning off the firewall etc as suggested but had the same result
Now back to IEX 6 and everything works again.
I do not wish to change from IEX 6 but it was mentioned on the PC Advisor that users will have to change over to IEX 7 soon.
Any truth in this?
