Add remove programs click as if to remove internet explorer and then choose the repair option. I would have thought that adaware only picked up the alexa toolbar from IE in which case it should not be a problem

What os is she? If it's xp try running sfc /scannow to replace any corrupt/missing system files. If no go then she may have to repair xp (only way to fix ie or oe).

If it is not in the add/remove programes section of control panel then it is not installed. Look again it will just say "internet explorer" and may have some numbers after it

she said she cant see it but the pc was ok last night and last thing at night she ran as-aware and shut down... when booted up this morning aol wont load all the way but she can get aol e mail .. but try to find a web page it shows a white page saying internet explorer cant find this page etc.... and i agree ad-aware shouldnt have done this but she cannot get anything on the net
