How can I connect to the internet automatically at start up? I use BT broadband and Microsoft Outlook for e-mails

Add Outlook to the startup items list

Have added Outlook to the startup and it works but once e-mails have been down loaded it breaks the connection. I cant find why in the settings.

Outlook Express, Tools, Options, Connection.
Uncheck hang up after receive/send.

Go to Outlook > Tools > select 'Options' from the drop down menu. Left click 'Mail Delivery' tab and make sure the 'Hang up when finished sending, receiving or updating' is not checked.

Hi All
I think I have cracked it. Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 829169 refers to Outlook 2002 and I run 2003 but it seems the same.
Main quote " By design, Outlook 2002 disconnects the dial-up connection after the program automatically sends and receives e-mail messages, even if the Hang up when finished with a manual Send/Receive option is not selected. " The article lists a workaround.

Thanks for your help. It appears that I either live with disconnection or only manual send & receive Regards Dickens
