Internet - Connection redirection to Premium Rate

  ayrpie 18:08 11 Mar 04

Operate Windows 2000. ISP AOL.
I appear to have a bug in the system which is allowing my telephone line connection to switch from AOL to a premium rate line. This has only come to light following receipt of telephone bill.
Any ideas how to clear

If you have not already done so,I suggest:-

1. run up to date anti virus sofware.
2. Download latest patches for you operating system from Microsoft.
3. Download free firewall from ZoneLabs which will warn you if your computer is tryin to redial to a premium rate number.
4. Do not open email attacments from unknown senders.
5. Do not accept program downloads from dodgy sites
6. Do not link to sites from emails as these could be bogus.

Good luck

Of course the other post has a point but that will be a dialler installed. You need to run either or both adaware click here or spybot click here and if you have not used either of these programs before be prepared for a shock
