Internet connection lost - what can I do?

  Maiden. 10:57 29 Mar 07

I was on the net last night when suddenly the connection terminated.

I've tried the usual things - switching the modem off and on, same with the PC, trying to refresh the connection using VISTA but it hasn't worked.

Is there any way I can test whether the fault lies in the PC, the modem or the connection beyond the modem ? It is a cable connection and is not wireless.

Any help you can give would be very much appreciated.

When you turn on your modem, and all the lights are flashing then the modem is working. In this case there will be a fault on the PC. Check all the settings for your Internet Connection, including the Firewall.
