Internet connection failure

I have a Sony VAIO VGN-FE41Z laptop and access the internet wirelessly via my home router/modem.

About once every day the internet connection on the laptop fails despite the internet icon indicating that it is still connected. The only way I can reinstate the connection is to re-boot which is, to say the least, annoying.

The modem and router are both fine as other PC's on the network don't have this problem.

I think it might be caused by the Sony's internet settings but don't know where to look.

Does anyone have any idea what might be causng this?

Thanks in advance.

First thing I would try would be an indepth virus/spyware scan, spyware will connstantly send info from your computer through the internet therefore slowing down the connection or disconnecting it.
