Internet connection

I was wandering if any one can help ?

I have a problem maintaining a connection to the internet once I have dialed up and connected. I am using freeserve as my ISP, all is fine when dialing up, but once I get a connection to the net I get about 5mins and then a message comes up saying that my connection will be terminated and starts to countdown and then crashes.

I am using XP Pro as the operating system does anyone have any ideas ?

Is it your PC shutting down or just the internet connection? If it's the PC itself, it may be the MSBlast virus that activates the RPC (Remote Procedure Call). This shuts down/restarts the PC and shows a dialogue box counting down.

If its not a virus, set IE to check for emails every 3 mins to make sure link to net is active.

Virgin used to disconnect if inactive for 5 mins.
