Every time I load my internet browser, I have something called "search the Web" open as well. I don't like this, how do I get rid of it?

Sounds like spyware; get SpyBot search and destroy or AdAware and run them.

I have downloaded Adware and this has still not resolved the problem

I was a bit confused by Spybot, so I will have a lookat CoolWebShredder. Should I get rid of Adaware if I download this.

Does it open in another window or in your actual Internet Explorer's Window

- Try changing the settings for your default home page. Should be in tools > options > general, click on use blank.... that should do it....

Else, it would probably have something to do with a registry hack....

No keep Ad-aware. These programs do not interfere with one another.
