internet adverts

could anyone help.
i,ve just connected to broadband and keep getting loads of pop up adverts.
is there anyway of stopping these?

It depends on which type of adverts they are, admatt. If they are "Messenger Service" ads, then click here for the solution to those. If they're the "ordinary" adverts, click here for a free popup stopper. You could also do worse than download these three free applications, they will keep your PC clear of spyware.

thanks, i'll give it a try.

If you use MSN Messenger and have a firewall installed on your system, try blocking ports 135-139. I did this from Agnitum Outpost and I haven't had a Messenger popup for 2 days. Before I did this I was getting 10+ a day.

Since I blocked these ports I haven't noticed anything not working either.
