Do i need a router to enable me to have internet access on both a pc and a laptop connected wirelessly? Or can I just purchase two wireless network adapters? PC is running windows XP and laptop is win 98. Internet connection is 56k dialup but hoping to change to adsl broadband.

you could do either.
-two adapters is cheaper, make sure you get some that support 'ad hoc' networking (one-to-one connection) and configure them using Windows Home Networking Wizard, which will set up Internet Connection Sharing

-a router is a good option if you plan to add any more devices to the network such as another pc/laptop or PDA
