i connected my laptop to my monitor using vga
but when i take out the vga cable my monitor on the laptop styas blamk
i have to hibernate and reboot to get my display back
your help would be much appreciated

You don't say what the make and model of the laptop is, aksuzbero, but usually laptops have an "F" key that when pressed along with the "Fn" key will toggle between monitor on or off. On my laptop it's Fn + F1, try using that to switch back to the laptop screen, before disconnecting the external monitor.
