Internal mail using Outlook 2003

I have a small network (8 pcs using XP and Outlook 2003) and would like each PC to have its own email address and can send and receive mail across the network. I need to use Outlook as these machines are used for training.
I will not necessarily have an internet connection - these machines and are moved from site to site.
I have additional spare PCs / laptops.
If possible I need a simple solution (for a simple person) and would rather not spend too much!
I hope that this makes sense.

I think you would need to set one of your spare machines up as a mail server.

Sorry for the delay - thanks George - I should have guessed that Linux would have a sensible answer - off to play now!
