Internal IDE DVD power cable

Hi,

I recently purchased an internal laptop DVD drive to use as I have DVD's from various regions and want one that has RPC1 firmware available.

I purchased a 50-pin to 3.5" IDE adapter and a USB cable etc.

My problem is this, the standard 4 pin power connection on 3.5" hard drives isn't on this 50 pin converter, instead there are some much smaller pins. Here is a picture click here

Anyone know what kind of cable I need for that?

Cheers

Alex

Looks like a floppy drive power connector ....

So would this "Molex" power splitter do the job for converting my standard 4 pin 3.5" IDE HDD connection into one compatible with my device?

Thanks again.

Looks about right , don't you have a spare one on the PC itself , usually you get 2 of these smaller connectors ..

I have a laptop so this is connected through USB. I have a direct power supply, but it didn't come with this type of connector.

Thanks for your help :)
